Remembering 9/11

On September 11, 2001 lives throughout the United States changed forever. Today marks the thirteenth anniversary since the terrorist attacks and we continue to remember. We remember all the people we lost that day and honor those who risked and gave their lives to save others. Please take a moment of silence at some point in your day and remember those who were lost.

On September 11, 2011 the National September 11 Memorial and Museum opened. This will be the first time, since opening, that the site will be open to the general public on the anniversary of the terrible tragedy. The fences surrounding the memorial plaza have been removed to integrate it with Manhattan to welcome the public. Most of the day it will only be available to family members but it will reopen to the public by 6 p.m. At this time it is expected for thousands to gather at the twin reflecting pools where the towers once stood.

This tragedy has made a huge impact on our country and even if it is just on the anniversary, please take some time and honor those who were lost.
